Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

probation reduction

I was convicted of pos. of controlled substance. received 4 years probation. Have been clean since arrest which was 1 yr and 3 mo before sentence. Have followed probation rules exactly. Have even done public appearances to talk about drug addictions. Is there any thing I can do to get my probation reduced.

My husband is an avid hunter and the rule of no firearms in residence during probation has sentenced him for my crime. I have served 2 years of probation as of this time.

Re: probation reduction

First, check with your probation officer and see if he/she will recommend a modification of your probation. They might do it since you have been fully compliant. The alternative would be to petition the court for a modification which will require a full legal petition, affidavits and a court appearance so you would be looking at about $1,000 to do that. If the probation officer recommends it, you still may have to go through a formal petition process. I can help you if need be. Talk to probation first and let me know. I am in Mishawaka. Where is your matter?
