Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
who does prosecutor work for?
A court appointed attorney for my Godson says he (the attorney) can come to a plea agreement with the prosecuter but that the family of the victim does not agree with the plea. I thought the prosecuter worked for the state and that it was up to him, not the victim's family, to decide on a plea offer.

Re: who does prosecutor work for?
Prosecutor's do work for the state, but there has been a lot of pressure to listen to victims and their input on certain cases.
