Re: Remove a felony off record

A felony conviction is normally a permanet part of one's criminal history. While the state stautes may allow to have a record of an arrest expunged, a conviction is another matter. Years back the process and reasons allowed for expungement were quite different. Yet, if a conviction were subject to post conviction relief, where the actually conviction is reversed, then the record of that arrest might or could be subject to being expunged. Another possibility one might hope for is that they are eligible for AMS or the alternative misdemenor statute. This would allow the reduction of the felony to a class "A" misdemenor. However, the court would have had to have granted that option at the time of sentencing. This alternative may even may been provided in a plea agreement with the state if one was enetered into. Clearly the entire case and it's facts would need to be reviewed before a call could be made as to any possibility. Given the limited facts provided, it is very unclear if any apply.
