Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

What does a restraining order do to a marriage license? I love my husband of 10 years, but he has problems! First he is a 54 year old man with a 34 year alcohal-drug (cocaine-weed) addict. He has aften moved out of our home, only to come back, just to leave again. This last time he had moved out of the house and came back for food; he threw a frozen ham at my 15 year old daughter, hitting her on her shoulder! I called the 911 # which hooked me up to the police. My husband was arrested at his motel; I had to file for a restraining order to protect my daughter, and he now faces jail time. He has several other battery charges in the past as well as a feloney back in 97 before we met. I do not belive in divorce, yet what am I supposed to do in the meantime? He will have restraints and protections orders and probation up until year 2013! I'm 59 years old and never smoked, drank, or such, I feel shocked and in a stupor!

A restraining order doesn't do anything to cancel a marriage license or terminate a marriage.
