Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
my son , was arrested for being with a 15 year old, but said she was 18 on my space, now he is in jail, and was asigned a public defender, who said we could hire him as my son's lawyer, and my son would be able to get out on bail , we have no money to help him, will he help my son more being his lawyer, or being his public defender?

he should provide equal service. In fact, I am not so sure he should be asking you for a fee if your son qualifies for a pd. You can contact me directly and I will look into this for you.
