Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
not my stuff
can someone go to prison if they police find stolen property in their house, but they have nothing to do with it, and doesnt know anything about it. and someone claims responsibility, and admits that they placed it there?

Yes. A jury does not have to believe that you knew nothing about the existence of the stolen property even if someone else backs you up. You need an attorney in your communtiy to advise you on the best way to prepare your defense.
