Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana

suspisious warrant

I found out I have a warrant for my arrest from back in 1998, altho the local police, sheriffs, or state police do not have this on file, I was told I have to appear in person to pay this fine, it's a 7 hour drive for me to turn myself in, But something don't sound right, I have been pulled over in the 11 years, why would they no arrest me then, when I talked to the prosecuting atterny, I was told the police delete warrants after so long, but i lived in thier area for two years after this warrant was issued, What should I do?

Re: suspisious warrant

Have an attorney investigate, and if the case is still pending, have the local attorney contact the prosecutor to deal with it. If you just ignore it, it can still turn around and show up when you least expect it.

Good luck.
