Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
I know someone who was victim of vindictive ex who left child porn on his computer, then reported him. He couldn't prove that he wasn't the one who put it on his computer, so he took a plea deal. He was told that he would not have to go on sex offense registry. On the last court date, he was told that a last minute change in Indiana law meant that all offenders had to register. Now his life is ruined.
Did Indiana just change the law on who has to register, or was this misinformation from lawyer and prosecutor?
