Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
Will my case show up on a background check?
I was arrested in feb 2007 for conversion. My lawyer thought it was best for me to do deffered prosecution and with that my case would be dissmissed if i stayed out of trouble for six months. I did complete it i wanted to get my case expunge in dec 2008 but i ended up getting a job and they did a background check but nothing popped up. So i did a background check on the indiana state police website in jan 2009 and still there was nothing. I have an interview saturday at retail store and im scared it may pop back up. I need help.

Typically it is only convictions that appear on criminal record checks. As it appears you were not actually convicted, it sems unlikely that this will come up. Remember, you are innocent until a conviction proves you guilty.
