Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
If a wistness does not show up to court
My brother was falsley accused of a crime. We think the number 1 wistness will not show up for his jury trial. My brother requested a speedy trial. the public defender filed it on Aug 1, the trial is set for Sept. 11- if their # 1 wistness does not show up to court- do they have the right to continue the trial. so they can issue a warrant for the wistness?

They may be able to get the court to grant a continuance. Your best source of information is your brother's PD.
