Legal Question in Criminal Law in Indiana
My x-roommate, who was also my landlord (we were on a week-to-week basis, no contract), got upset with me and when I went to go pick up all of my things to move out, my $400 Sony camera was not in my room. She says she hasn't seen it, but I know it was there. I have text messages of her threatening to take my things to her friends house if I don't pay her back $20 for a sandwich that I ate of hers out of the fridge. I know she has my camera, is there anything that I can do?

Assume she is telling the truth. That means you would report a stolen camera to the police without identifying who you believe in your gut did it, which you should do. Let them investigate and try to determine who stole it. You will not be able to sue her in small claims court with the evidence you have, and given the fact that you appear to have destroyed something of hers (the sandwich), it is better to handle it this way.
