I'm 21 and I was at a bar In Indiana visiting a friend who DJs there. I had a few beers and when the bar closed I left to follow him to his house which was two blocks away.
I was following the wrong car by mistake and did a U turn and then saw I was being pulled over. I was in the left lane at a yellow light and went through it when it was turning red to get into the right hand lane to pull over because I was nervous. I took the breathilizer and blew a .10. I was taken to the police station and then taken to the hospital by ambulance because I had a panic attack and then was released to go home. I live in IL and was not very drunk at all and the police and the nurse at the hospital knew this. I am getting a lawyer. I drive 40 mins to work and to school, do you think there I will be able to keep my license?

Consulting and hiring an attorney early on when facing criminal charges is your best move and you indicate you are already doing so. You will not be able to keep your license throughout this matter but an experienced OVWI /DUI / DWI criminal defense attorney can help limit the duration of your suspension. Be sure to speak with your lawyer about the differences between administrative BMV suspensions and court suspensions as well as hardship and probationary licenses.
