DWI/ loss of employment

husband arrested 7/12/09 for OWI and Driving with a BAC .15% or above. While leaving bar he was hit by another vehicle on the drivers side. Possable out come of court on 7/15/09 (first offense) and can his employer fire him for being in jail. Also he is wanting to admit his self into rehab. Can employer let him go if he does go into rehab?

Generally speaking an employer in an at will employment relationship may terminate an employee at any time for any reason. If there is a contract or collective bargaining agreement, that will govern the reasons by which his employment may be terminated.
