I am the daughter of an 81 year old man. My father was recently placed in a nursing home. Prior to this, he was at a hospital. While in the hospital, I was called by the nurses to ok a liver biopsy because my dad's significant other was unavailable. Now, I am being told by the nursing facility that I can get no information on my father's condition. Where can I find information on my rights as his child. My father has also been diagnosed with the early stages of dementia. Thank you for any assistance you might be able to give me.

You need to obtain guardianship over your father. See a local attorney.
