Elder rights
My uncle is 85 years old, hard of hearing and visually has periferal vision. He is completely mobile and has all of his mental faculties, he is sharp minded and keen witted. He has liver cancer and is in the last months of his life.He is being forced to stay with one of his 3 sons. He wants to go live with his sister for the remaining time he has left. The 3 sons threatened that they will put him in a nursing home if he trys to leave. His sister is widowed, living in her own home with her daughter and son in law living across the road to help her with anything he would need. He says living where he is now is worse than jail and he said he will be out of there ''one way or another'', as he puts it, by the end of May. What can be done legally to let him leave there and go to live with his sister? Time is of the essence as he gets worse by the day and doesn't want to be where he is for the short time he has left. What are his rights???? Can he just pack his clothes and leave or ????We would appreciate any advice that you can render. Thank you for your time...

Re: Elder rights
Yes, he can and should pack his bags and leave. The other thought is to have a family mediation that he could call with an elder care mediator to get the family together to discuss his last days and smoothly transition him.
