Hello, I have a question about Medicaid eligibility in Indiana for elderly immigrants. Which of the two situations is preferable, 1) they live with their children or 2) they are a separate household and live in a house (not owned by them) and their children provide 100% financial support. What are the asset/income considerations in both cases? In the second case, if the house is owned by their children, could that be a reason for denial ?

Your question isn't really answerable with the information provided. Medicaid eligibility depends on many factors including amount and type of assets, whether any transfers have been made in the last 5 years preceding application, income. You would need to provide specifics. It is best to consult with an elder law specialist to present the specific facts of these immigrants to determine the best course of action for them.
