Legal Question in Environmental Law in Indiana

Water well table drained by housing development

We live on a lake and behind us was a gravel pit. They are turning this into a contuance of the lake and housing development. Last week they sunk 10 wells (that we know of) and started to pump out the standing water and lower the table so they can start to cut the trench. By Sunday we were without water. and severl near by neighbors. They have offered to connect us to the city water (temporarily) but we fear that once the channel is cut that we may not get out well water supply back. Can you help us find out whether or not it will replenish itself and what recourse we have to getting well water again and not at our expense?

I would think you should hire your own expert to assist you in this matter. The expert could help with your concerns about future water. You should have a good case regarding the "taking" of your water. I could give you an expert's name and address, if you like. This is going to cost you money, as I don't know of any way to get your attorneys' and expert fees back. Mary
