Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

I am 39 years olfd. I wasz raised by my birth mother and step father. My name was changed to his last name in grammar school. (Not legally). My mother has sense passed away. I am still aiding with the car of my step father. However, certain complications arise since I was not legally adopted by my step father. What is the process I need to do to be legally adopted by my step father if that is possible.

There is a provision in the Indiana Code for adult adoptions. Since there are serious legal implications(it is not just a name change)you should hire counsel. Good luck.
