Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

abandoned property

I am currently going through a divorce, now lasting more than a year. During that time my parents have been storing a vehicle and furnature of my husbands. How long does it have to sit until it becomes abandoned? He has been told to come get it for over a year, but I'm not sure what they can do about it legally because we are not divorced yet.
