Abandonment

If the mother has allowed her children to stay with the childrens grandmother because the mother is going through a nervous breakdown. Can the Grandmother get the mother for abandonment if the mother is willing to sign over guardianship of the children to the grandmother?

There is no reason for "getting her". The grandmother can petition for guardianship and advise the court of the circumstances. The alternative is to file for custody.
