Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Adoption and Financial Obligations

I am not married, and considerng adopting a child from China. If I marry after adopting, and I want my husband to adopt my child so they have the same last name as I do, is there a way or a document that exists whereby he is not required to provide financial support to this child during marriage, and if we divorce, he would not be required to pay child support or any type of responsibility for this adopted child? While I would want us to be a family and have the same name, he and I both agree that he should not be financially responsible for a child I adopt on my own before our marriage. Just as I would not be responsible for his child after we are married.

Thank you!

Re: Adoption and Financial Obligations

Why dont you just try a name change instead of having your husband adopt the child?
