Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

I need advice for my daughter, she moved to Indiana, pregnant after being in a domestic violent relationship, where she was beat and choked weekly. The father is just out of jail for assault (against someone else) and is trying to contact her about the baby. My daughter is afraid for her child's life if this man has any rights to visitation, he has a long history of violence against others. What can she do?

The ship has sailed when it comes to the father being able to see the child until he abuses the child; his rights were created when she decided to have sex with him.

What she can do is get to a local women's shelter for counseling, and seek an attorney who can help arrange for the initial visitation that the man will have to be in a supervised and safe environment for all concerned.
