How Do I Ansewer a Summons

I got a summons for a paternity case for a child served by the state of indiana and i dont know what im suppose to write into on answering it ..

First, you do not write anything on the summons. You can respond to the Petition to Establish Paternity but not the summons.

You do need to appear at any hearing.

I strongly recommend that you get an attorney. If you think you cannot afford one, ask the court to appoint one for you.

You need to go to court on the date required on the summons. You also need to hire an attorney so that you can properly defend the claim or protect your rights if you are the father.
