Client cooperation is a conrerstone of representation. The attorney had an ethical obligation to withdraw as counsel once differences arose. However, he is still required to have provided services to you to the extent of the fee paid. In other words if there fee paid was $1000 and the attorney charges $250 an hour. He is only entitled to keep the retainer if he worked 4 hours.
