While it would seem that you would be able to retain legal services on an hourly basis, it would not be reasonable to expect that an attorney would be able just to step in for this one hearing alone.

If you expect an attorney to be able to represent you, that person will need to prepare by making themselves aware of the issues and facts in the case not to mention gathering the necessary evidence to present to the court. This will be more than a 3 hour process.

It would also appear from the limited facts given that this may be a final contested hearing which again will take time to prepare for. You should have a more realistic view of the time and investment this will require. It really does not seem reasonable to expect to engage the services of an attorney for just this one hearing for a set time period of 3 hours.

You should take the time to meet with a lawyer to review your case. If your hearing is in june, you are running out of time to retain an attorney, unless the matter can be continued.
