Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Background: My daughters father has been court ordered to pay child support and back child support about 8 years ago. Since then he's paid about 4 months in all. I have called the court house and did what they have instructed me to do to get him to pay child support but nothing has come of it and he still will not pay out even buy things for her. He does see her however a great deal less this year then last year but and before last year almost not at all. I never keep her from him and used to call and have to beg him to see her. My daughter is 8 1/2 years old now. My questions are 1 how do I go about getting her father to pay child support? 2. I'm getting married in two days and my daughter has my last name which isn't her fathers last name and she wants to change it to her step fathers last name if I do that does that make a difference with child support against her father?

1. Call the IVD office of your prosecutor and ask for help. If you are already signed up with them and the caseworker is not doing the job in your opinion, ask to talk to the attorney in charge.

2. A name change will not affect support, but it is also unlikely to be granted in most courts unless the father agrees to it.
