Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

My boyfriend removed my daughter to her room and in doing so left marks, the police were called and cps came out to investigate the police said that I was uncooperative when I informed them that I was uncomfortable with them entering my home without a warrent I informed them that I wanted to speak to an attorney I was informed it was in my best interest in regards to my children staying with me that I go down to the police station and give a video and taped witness statement I again informed the police that I really wanted to speak to a lawyer. I understand the imminent danger section for child abuse/neglect and the police arrested my boyfriend and charged him with battery on a minor. The police and cps questioned me and my children for 5 hours after boyfriend was removed from home is it advisable for me to obtain legal counsel?
