Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
My brother got divorced this past Aug. He has two children, one being a son who turned 21 the month after the divorce was final and moved into his own apt. with several friends. My brother's attorney told him he still has to pay child support on his son even though he's 21. He did get the child support to go straight to his son but I thought if they were 21 and living on their own you no longer had to pay? The son is also in college and my brother and his exwife have to pay all the college expenses even though his son is working full time. Doesn't the son have to pay something on college his self? They all live in Indiana. There was also no written judgement on who got to claim the kids what years on taxes and even though the exwife was told to get the house and car out of my brother's name the car is still in his name.

Why are you writing instead of your brother?
Child support ends at age 21 in Indiana. Usually, the courts require the student to pay 1/3rd.
Usually there is a provision for exemptions. It is unclear whether your inquiry about the car is for title or for the loan.
