Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

I have a brother who suffered a recent brain injury. He is no longer able to make decisions for himself. He retains his own guardianship at this time and my mother makes his medical decisions. My brother needs Neurological rehab and is on medicade. My mother makes my brothers medical decisions not out on need for my brother, but out of convienience for her. She has neglected to get him the help he desperately needs, because it is too hard. If I were to fight for my brothers guardianship would I then legaly become financially responsible for his medical bills both past and present. Is there any other recourse I may have to get guardianship away from my brother and into some type of advocate who will act in his best interest?

You will not be personally responsible for the bills. You can petition the court for guardianship.

Contact a local attorney. Good luck.
