Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

name change

My name change is included in the divorce decree. Do I need to do anything further to finalize it? I was told I have to ''go downtown, pay $1 and have it made official'', but don't know what that entails. I already went to the Social Security office and requested a new card. Thanks.

You may need to get a certified copy of the Decree. That may cost you a dollar. Otherwise, I am unaware of any fee.
