Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

change of venue

How does one request a change of venue from a state where you were divorced to the state that you currently live in? My ex-husband and I were divorced in Michigan. I moved to Indiana and he followed one year later. We have both now lived in Indiana for three years.

Re: change of venue

Technically, this is not a change of venue, so if you are doing research, dont use that as a search term.

Practically speaking, you will need to register the foreign decree in an Indiana court. You can then seek enforcement or modification.

Hope this helps.
