Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Child Abandonment

I have been told I would be getting served papers to legally abandon a child that I fathered. How long will it take me to get those papers? where will I be served those papers (work or home)? and do I have to sign them?

Re: Child Abandonment

1) THat depends on the processing time atthe court house.

2) That depends on what was placed on the papers as your address.

3)this question is unclear. Of you are asking do you have to sign the receipt of the papers; yes if served by certified mail, if yo uare asking do you ahve to agree to the lega labandonment, no , you don't, the court will decide if you don't.
