child custody hearing

my husband was in court today to try to get custody of his daughter, i was not permitted in the court room for hearing, the whole discusion was mostly about my children from previous marriage. can the judge, lawyers and exwife and my husband discuss my information abotu my children without me there and not discuss the issues with me?
