Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
Child Endangerment
I've found that my ex has been making my children (9,14) get on the roof of his home (1-story) and clean his gutters, then to get down, has told them to jump, but 'make sure you drop and roll when you land so you don't get hurt.'' My youngest is afraid, but forced to do so anyway. I've contacted CPS, who states they have a five day window to get back to me IF they decide to investigate. Also have contacted judge; who knows when I'll hear back. What punishment am I facing if I don't return them to their father for the rest of his summer visitation? He's entitled to the next 3 weeks. We have a hearing scheduled on July 2 to address contempt charges (unrelated to latest info I've received from my children.)

Re: Child Endangerment
A phone call to the judge wont do it. You need to file for an emergency hearing seeking modification of the parenting time order! You need to serve the
father with a copy. Even if you are not heard right away, the knowledge that you are going to court becasue of his conduct may be enough to prevent him from doing something similar again.
Practically speaking, this may be a non-issue at this point as the gutters are already cleaned in all likelihood. However, you may be able to prevent future similar conduct.
good luck.
