Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Child support arrears excess $30,000.00

My ex husband owes in excess of $30,000.00 in arrears . I have a court order judgement to that fact . Can I place liens against his home, personal property, in an attempt to collect this. The court continues to disregard this fact when approached thorough the interstate collection process. He will pay a minimum to get them off his back , then return to old patterns of not paying.I thought the URESA act ensured they would follow up, to keep federal funding, also didn't former president Bill Clinton made it a federal crime to owe over $5,000.00 in arrears? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Yes, there are a host of very unpleasant things that can be done to him to make his life a living hell -- garnishment of wages, liens on property, revoked driver's and professional licenses, income tax refund intercepts, jail time.

Unfortunately, the court itself doesn't do collections work, though. You or your attorney has to ride him in order to make this happen.
