I paid off my child support in Texas for the state of california and have a reciept from the attorney generals office in Texas stating I have a zero balance and I owe 0.00 dollars. Now I have moved to Indiana and california is saying they can charge me again for child support because I live in another state. They are now trying to take me to court in Indiana to have me pay this. IS THIS LEGAL??

CAN THEY DO THIS TO ME AGAIN?? - Is this your question? Add additional information

Re: Child Support

Your submission does not make sense. My guess is that they are seeking additional arrears or support. However, it is the local states attorney through IV D who is handling things locally. You should send your receipt from Texas to the local and ask for an accounting of all payments made and what is due.
