Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

child support calculation error

an admitted error was made by my ex's attorney for 1 and a half years in calculation of child support in the amount of $1,660. Incomes were submitted properly by my ex and myself. The error was made by the attorney.I don't feel my ex needs to absorb this mistake, but I don't see that I am resposible either. I have tried to discuss this with my ex husband, but he feels that I need to pay this back or I should get a lawyer to fight this. It would be cost prohibitive to get representation considering the amount, so I feel like I am over a barrel. My son is in his final year of college and the support goes for his auto insurance, tax and licenceand auto repairs. I have a choice to pay in a lump sum or end child support now to pay back the overage. Do I have any recourse?

Re: child support calculation error

Simply stated, your recourse is to hire an attorney. Chances are that the other attorney will agree to an order and you should be able to accomplish this for quite a bit less than the amount stated.
