Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
Child Support
My girlfriend was pregnant by me or
her exboyfriend. I stood by her until
the baby was born and I give the
baby my name. I also sign and
affidavit of paternity, After this we
did the paternity test and the baby is
not mine. Due to the results I
walked away from her. Now she is
suing me for child support in Indiana,
where she lives I have to be in court

What should I do?

Re: Child Support
You will need to assert that she lied to you and that is why you signed the affidavit and then present evidence of the paternty test.
A word of caution, you should hire an attorney, failing to do so could be very costly if the court does assess you with child support.
Re: Child Support
Be there.
Better, hire an attorney immediately. If you do nothing, you can be saddled with support payments that will follow you for over 20 years. You could end up having to pay college tuition for the child. In short, you could pay tens of thousands of dollars for a child that is not yours.

Retain counsel.
