Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

My husband is currently paying a certain amount for child support based on his current job. We are moving out of state due to my job. Based on his lack of education and his limited trade skills, etc. there's no way he will be making as much as he is currently. In actuality, the amount he will be making is so low that it would barely pay for daycare for the daughter that we have. Based on this, he would like to be a stay at home father for our daughter. However, our lawyer has indicated that if he does not seek a job and decides to stay at home, the child support will not be reduced. However, if he does take a new job, the child support will be lowered. Our question: what would happen to the child support if my husband decides to start a new job and then quit after a short period of time but continue to pay the new reduced child support? (In other words, if he worked at his new job for a month and quit but continued to pay the new child support, would the court change the child support back to what he was paying in Indiana? It just seems odd to me that the child support will only get reduced once he takes another job--and not if he decides to stay at home with our 6 month old. Thanks so much for your input

Since his case is in litigation, and your husband's attorney knows all of the facts, you would be best served by consulting with that lawyer.
