Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Child Support Ruling

My ex and I were in court recently without legal counsel. The jude ruled that due to my 40% pay cut, and that we are so close in pay now, I will no longer pay child support (split custody - 1 child each). Also, that out of pocket insurance would stay 64% me/36% her until 1/09 - then 50/50. But, it does not address the $87 per wk she has gotten since I filed - week 3 of August, 2008. Don't I get that back support back from her? I have every other time we've been in court on child support issues! This ruling leaves so much room for interpretation. I don't know how to address this - I don't want to tick off the judge!

Re: Child Support Ruling

The court has discretion to order that the support modification be retroactive to the date of filing.

It is not mandatory. If not in the order, then it is not retroactive.
