Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Child Support

I am wondering if my son's father is still obligated to pay child support. My son turned 18 on the 25th of September but is a full-time student at Ashland University. It is my understanding that the support continues while he is a full-time student but before I tell his father it does, I would like to know for sure. He has stopped paying support for him.

Re: Child Support

Indiana law requires that child support continue until the child's 21st (not 18th) birthday. If your decree does not provide for the non-custodial parent to contribute to college costs, then the options are for the non-custodial parent to continue to pay the weekly support or for one parent to petition the Court to set a college support order. As a general rule a non-custodial parent contributing to college costs does not pay current support while the child is away at school.
