Child support/college expenses
I was divorced in Indiana about 5 years ago. My ex-wife and i have a daughter who has just turned 18. i have been paying child support which is automatically deducted from my paycheck. she will be going away to college this fall. my question is when does child support stop in indiana? the divorce degree is not specific on age or school status. i dont mind paying it but since she wont be living with her mother, i dont feel comfortable sending the money there, since i know it will not go to support our daughter. can i use this child support money as my contribution to part of her college expenses or does this have to be seperate from child support? whom should i contact to get this information?

You will either end up paying child support -- or you will end up paying a portion of the college expenses.
If your decree was done five years ago, you're probably going to be better off sticking with its terms, rather than going back now for a revision (unless you know your ex has received a huge raise or you have a huge cut in pay through no fault of your own).
Child support can continue to age 21 in Indiana, unless the child is not in school, is at least age 18 and can support himself/herself through work.
