child supportt

stated by my divore degree i have full custity of my son and i get to claim him on taxes every year.His father only has to pay 24.11 a week in child support a week.I only recieved 50.00 dollars for two years and now he is on unemploment so i've been receiveing it every week plus now they have taken 1900.00 from his taxes for back support.he claims by law he's in title to claim him every other year because he pays his support.Is that corret or false.

You have custody, you have the tax break. However, the divorce court can require that you assign the exemption every other year or more often or less often.

At this point, based on the information that you have provided to me, the tax break is yours.
