Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
Child is working...
My child that I have been paying child support on for the last 17 1/2 years has a job. He lives in another state. They sent me a letter stating that the support obligation had stopped and I was current with no arrearages. That state has a pay 'till the kid's 18 unless the they go to college rule. Indiana-the state where the divorce took place and has jurisdiction-has a pay 'till they are 21 rule (regardless of college) rule. Can I get Indiana to stop the obligation because the child is working?

Re: Child is working...
Maybe. There are more factors then just that he or she is working. Please check the Indiana Code Title 31 for emancipation requirements.
