Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

i have two children ages 12 and 14, which my ex husband has custody of, my children want to come live with me, i do not have the finances right now to hire a attorney. how can i get this filed so they can talk to the judge? not sure how to word a petition for this??

I can not stress enough how much you need to have an attorney to help you through this. Judges do not have to listen to children, even if you request it correctly. An attorney in your community will know what is most influential to a judge. Look at it this way: if you do not have the money to afford to hire an attorney, you may not have the money to care for your children in an emergency as a custodial parent.

I agree with Jay. Courts do not like to force children to testify for or against a parent. You need an attorney who knows how to address that situation in your local courthouse. Borrow the money if you have to. These are your chiuldren that you are talking about.
