Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

claiming a dependent on taxes

I have a son that is six years old and i have never claimed him on taxes. I have payed child support since his birth and I am current with it now. I have his soc. sec. # and I do not have visitation with him. Am I allowed to claim him on my taxes or do I have to get permission from the childs mother.
