Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Clerk's Office Child Support Payments

In October of 2003, my ex wife was complaining of the clerk's office holding onto her support checks to where she would recieve them upto 1-2 weeks after I paid it at a Marion COunty Fifth Third Bank. We agreed to pay it through transfers at a mutual credit union instead to allow more timely payments--until they started charging me additional fees and then I went back to paying it through the clerk's office--the Clerk's office obviously shows a gap in my child support payments from October 1-March 19--what is the easiest and most economic way of relaying the proof of payment to the courts as to not show my account in arrears--can I submit the information without an attorney? If my cause # starts with 49D07-which court do I file it with? There are no conflicts or descrpencies between my ex's record of payment and mine. Can they put me jail for showing an arrearage for these months alone in the amount of $6,256? Please advise.

Re: Clerk's Office Child Support Payments

Your divorce was in Marion Superior Court 7. If there are enforcement proceedings brought by your former spouse by the County prosecutor's office Child Support Division, your case might be reassigned to Title IV-D court. There is no particular procedure for reporting support paid outside the Court system except when there is an enforcement proceeding.
