College expenses

What is the law requiring payment for college expenses. Support payments have stoped because of age. Daughter moved out 4 years ago,took nite college courses last two years,now Iget a bill for college expenses.Do I have to pay.

Re: College expenses

Generally, divorced parents are responsible for costs up to the first college degree or vocational eductaion but not advanced degrees and programs. However, parents not divorced can choose whether they wish to invest their money in their child's education.

If your son or daughter has moved out, become employed full time for a year or more, it is not likely you would be held responsible. Yet, each case is different and all the facts would need to be known before a solid call could be made.
