Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

A couple gets a divorce, in the decree one party gets the house, and 1 car...however both parties names are on the house (mortgage) and loan for the car. If the party that was awarded these items has bad credit and can not refiance in their own name alone, what options does the party that was not awarded the items have?

The option is to hire an attorney, which is what should have been done in the first place to protect the party not awarded the items.
