Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana
The courts turned over my daughter to me two weeks ago.But they are still tacking out child support i have contacted the clerks office and they say the have not recieved the right paper work.I contacted my lawyer and he says he wont finish filing the paper work untill he gets the rest of the money.If the courts already granted me the child,but they still are paying the other parent child support.What can i do 2 get the support that iam paying stopped. Do i realy need to file a petion to the courts again?

Although I do not agree with what your lawyer is doing and question whether the conduct is ethical and/or malpractice, your best bet is to pay him if you want this done quickly. Otherwise, you will need to discharge him and file the paper work. It sounds to me that all that is needed is a court order drafted and submitted to the court and upon the court's formal entry of that order submitted to the clerk.
